Calculating Liner Size

To calculate the Length of the liner, Add 2x the depth of the pond to the Maximum Length + 3 feet

To calculate the Width of the liner, Add 2x the depth of the pond to the Maximum Width + 3 feet

As in the example above
2 x 18 inch Depth = 3 ft + (4ft Length + 3ft) = 10 ft Total Length of liner.

2 x 18 inch Depth = 3 ft + (3ft Width + 3ft) = 9 ft Total Width of liner.

Stocking a new pond

You need to place Frogs spawn in your pond, not adult frogs, this is because adult Frogs will always try to return to the place they were spawned to breed. You will also need a shallow area of pond were the young Frogs will be able to leave the water. There will be many garden ponds in your area, on making enquiries you are sure to get someone who will donate you some Frogs spawn. It is not always a good idea to take Frogspawn from the wild, which could deplete local populations.
